Peter J. Peaquin
Peter J. Peaquin defends people. During a career spanning more than 15 years, Peter has zealously mounted defenses on behalf of those accused of crimes ranging from murder to drunk driving in courtrooms across the region. His legal practice today is focused on those charged with driving under the influence of alcohol – a challenging area of criminal law that gives him the opportunity to help ordinary people often overwhelmed and frightened by consequences of this serious charge.
Peter has been practicing law here in the Northwest since 1990. He spent his childhood in the eastern seaboard state of Pennsilvania. After finishing college at Western New England, he went onto study law at Tulane University, a top-ranked school in New Orleans, Louisiana. An avid sailor, Peter intended to become an expert in maritime law. But his involvement in Tulane’s excellent Trial Advocacy classes awakened his passion to become a criminal defense attorney. During his years as a public defender in both King County District and Superior courts, Peter became a skilled negotiator and veteran trial attorney. Education as an attorney does not end with the awarding of a degree, and Peter has continued to learn and grow through membership in organizations such as the National College for DUI Defense and the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
Many of Peter's most rewarding professional experiences have come from collaboration with other attorneys similarly dedicated to passionate representation of the accused. It is in defending the accused that we stand shoulder to shoulder to protect the true meaning of the Constitution. |
